For nearly 2000 years, Christian societies denied that rape within marriage was possible.
They mainly based this on St Paul*, who wrote "“The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. And likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. Do not deprive one another except with consent for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again", which they interpreted as saying a woman has a duty to have sex with her husband.
The apparent symmetry of the statement in the context of the asymmetry of human sexual physiology shouldn't fool anyone. A woman can rape a man, but only if he's in the unusual state of not consenting while being aroused. If he's not aroused, he can't perform his "duty".
What a strange religion... except that most Christians don't believe this stuff today.
*NB, NOT the Old Testament, shared with the Jews, so you can't blame the Jews**

Tex stopped reading after first line, he is an ultra orthodox loon and saying he is representative of jews is as logical.as saying all catholic priests advocate the rape of choirboys so therefore Catholicism is particularly odd.
His view would not go down well even in Israel.which has had female conscription for years.

I'm not an expert, but there's some strange shit in there, so I wouldn't be surprised if there was. However, that isn't really the point, since it's the Christian book as well and nobody who isn't a pervert, Jewish or Christian, advocates it.

I am not exactly delighted with Netanyahu either especially seeing cosying up to.the far right president of Brazil. However your original.post was about singling out the religion not the government of Israel

Last time I heard of the Mint Press News they were running stories by a conspiracy theorist professor from my home province that was suspended a few years ago.

Tex you are missing the point anyway, as singling this out, even if it were true, just shows that you think it acceptable to look for excuses (no matter how obscure) to justify your dislike of an entire group. At the end of the day all religion is a bit strange, but using a minority example to highlight one specific religion is questionable.
